Pettingill, William – Simple studies in Romans
Pettingill – Romans Simple
From 1928 to 1950, Dr. Pettingill traveled across North America, Central America, and Europe sharing his gift of stirring people to action from the word. “Keep looking up!” was his motto and it became the challenge to many. Dr. Pettingill exchanged his faith for sight on September 15, 1950. Born August 27, 1886, William Pettingill received only a fourth grade education because of precarious family finances. Saved at thirteen, serious Bible study began a decade later after his first encounter with C. I. Scofield.
From that point, Pettingill moved from Y.M.C.A. work into the pastorate and teaching. (Many of his twenty-one books are revised sermon studies.)
Moule Veni Creati is an old, well known work in studies in the Holy Spirit by Bishop (Anglican) H.G.C. Moule. It has 12 chapters. It is a deep treatment of the Holy Spirit. Although Moule was Anglican, his writings are well written and good.

In 1913, Scofield and Pettingill co-founded the Philadelphia College of the Bible, with Pettingill serving as dean. In addition to stimulating students with his vivid visualizations of the Word and his hearty laugh, Pettingill wrote widely, served on the council of the Central American Mission, and was a staunch supporter of the fundamentalist movement. Buy me a Cup of Coffee! To make an old work into a PDF, a module for theWord, MySword, or eSword takes time. These works are scans from old books, and as such, I have to go through the text some dozen times looking for places where the OCR is incorrect, blurred, or just skipped something. Then there are the old Bible references like John iii. 16. I have had to invest days and days in macros to read a long text, and make substitutions (above search for "iii" and replace with "3:"). Unfortunately, you have to start with 150 in Roman numerals (CL) and work your way backwards. This takes time and patience, (and being smart enough to do it in a macro language) and then making the text into theWord or eSword, and converting it also into MySword. Please donate something to me once every 6 months or year, even if it is only $5, so that I can pay my bills for hosting, and also keep things going. paypal.me/davidcoxmex/
